Primarily self taught, Philip Gelb started offering personal chef and catering work with his business, In the Mood for Food in 2003. He makes everything from scratch including his own tempeh for his clients and his underground restaurant/concert series. Twice monthly, he shares his knowledge of international vegetarian cuisines with hundreds of students in his cooking class series. He is also a musician and music teacher who has released dozens of CDs and performed throughout North America and in Japan and Europe.
