Kevin is the Associate Director of Earth Island Institute an environmental non-profit founded in San Francisco in 1982, by the legendary David Brower. Now headquartered in the David Brower Center in Berkeley, CA, Earth Island’s mission is to grow environmental leadership through education and activism in support of the biological and cultural diversity that sustain the environment. Kevin has 25 years experience with Bay Area-based environmental and animal advocacy organizations, in various fundraising, membership development, communications, and management roles. Prior to his nearly 10 years as AD for Earth Island, Kevin was Development Director of In Defense of Animals, and for The Gorilla Foundation, home of Koko the gorilla, and he worked in various development and program roles with Sierra Club. Kevin is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and has Bachelor of Science degrees in Industrial Management and in Economics from Carnegie Mellon. He has been a vegetarian for the planet for two decades, and an ethical vegan for the animals the past 13 years, and he has been involved with Berkeley Vegan Earth Day since it began 5 years ago.
