Naturopathic Doctor / Ocean & Marine Mammal Activist

Dr. Connie Sanchez is a California licensed Naturopathic Doctor (N.D.) and passionate ocean and marine mammal activist and conservationist. She has been practicing natural medicine for over 13 years and has a practice in Monterey, CA at Wave Street Wellness in Cannery Row specializing in chronic illness and whole food plant-based nutrition. Dr. Sanchez has interned with some of the world’s best doctors, Dr. John McDougall, and the doctors of True North Health Center. She is certified in T. Colin Campbell’s plant-based nutrition course from eCornell and is member and has been a spokesperson for the Physician Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM).

Dr. Sanchez strongly believes that all of nature is intimately connected and for health to occur we must be in tune with the natural world. “We are not separate from nature, we are nature.”

She is an onshore volunteer for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and can often be found out on a research boat in the Monterey Bay volunteering with Marine Life Studies and the Whale Entanglement Team (W.E.T.). When not on the water, or in the office seeing her human patients, she is helping to rescue and care for seals and sea lions as a member of the Sunday crew at The Marine Mammal Center in Moss Landing.
