Professional and home chefs will be competing to see who makes the best vegan sandwich in town!
Chefs can make raw or cooked sandwiches and use whatever ingredients they want as long as it’s 100% vegan.
Attendees will get to sample all of the chefs creations and VOTE for their favorite.
The winning chef will have the opportunity to compete in the 3rd Annual Vegan Iron Chef Event (Feb 2015)
Genuto will be on-site sampling 6 NEW flavors for you to try and you will vote for your favorite one! The flavor with the most votes will be Genuto’s newest flavor!
Personal chef, caterer, instructor, and Professional Vegucator Chef Lisa Books-Williams has been sharing the joy of plant-based eating with the SF Bay Area since 2005. Lisa has released more than 100 lbs and regained her vitality through healthy eating. She won Vegan Iron Chef (San Francisco, 2013), is an award-winning raw food chef (Best of Raw NYC 2010) and a certified Green Chef Instructor. Lisa developed the culinary portion of the Plant-Based Diet program for Kaiser Permanente and currently teaches patients plant-based cooking and Food Preparation classes at the Redwood City, Pleasanton and Vallejo Campuses. She has vegucated Kaiser employees, staff and physicians all over the SF Bay Area.
Chef Teena is a vegetarian and is passionate about a plant-based diet. Her family is in the restaurant business, and that’s where she developed a passion for cooking, especially Indian food. She’s got a knack for spicing things up! She recently competed and WON in an summer appetizer competition with the Live Well Network Food Rush TV show hosted by Chef Ryan Scott. Maria Clementi has over 15 years of hands-on experience working in professional kitchens. With a strong enthusiasm for fresh, seasonal foods, she savors teaching alternative cooking techniques to the seasoned chef, as well as those new to the kitchen. Her most treasured experiences were gained exploring the world to work, study, and seek the guidance of leaders in the plant-based culinary arts. From the mystical cliff-lined shores of Oregon to the Michelin starred streets of Berlin and now the farm to table culture of Sonoma County, she experiences life and culture through real, honest food. As a result of extensive travel, life-schooling, cooking, and now teaching, she believes you don’t need to sacrifice outstanding taste for health. Maria is currently the Healthy Eating Specialist at Whole Foods Market Coddingtown in Santa Rosa, works as a lead catering chef at Insalata’s in Marin, and assists the director of programs at the Dr. John McDougall Medical Program. Maria lives in Healdsburg with her 2 year old border collie mix.

Deidra Bagdasarian is a pastry chef and the co-founder of Bliss Edibles, a Bay Area medical cannabis bakery. She became a vegan in 2011 and loves the shift in perspective it’s given her about the value of life. She immediately began experimenting with whole food, vegan ingredients and has loved adding more compassionate, wholesome treats to her bakery’s menu. She has perfected some great gluten free, sugar free, vegan baked treats that are in-detectibly healthy in their decadence. She is eager to share her vegan sandwich skills with the bay area vegan community. She lives with her family near Grass Valley, CA.
